changes to direct debits and Internet saver accounts

    The letter I received says that the changes are "...to keep your account as secure as possible." So after many years of the banking industry promoting direct debits, it now appears they are not "as secure as possible". That's worrying. My letter also says that the changes are "...to bring our account functionality in line with other savings accounts..." Rather contradicts the explanation from RossM that it is sue to an internal process change. And anyway, I still have an account elsewhere that uses direct debits to pay into a savings account. One wonders if it is really worth the effort of setting up new standing orders for 0.5%
