How do I make a claim on my Tesco Bank Home Insurance policy?

The number you need to call will depend on your underwriter. To find the right one, visit our Home Insurance claims: how to claim page or head to Your Insurance Account and select ‘Make a Claim’ from the top of the page. You’ll also find information on claiming against one of your optional extras on these pages.

When claiming, please quote your policy number. You can find this number on your policy schedule.

We might need some information to process your claim. Here's a checklist of some of the things that would be useful to have to hand, depending on what you're claiming for:

  • Buildings: a description of the damage (including measurements and photographs) and we might ask you for estimates where appropriate.
  • Contents: the make, model, and serial number of the damaged or lost item as well as photographs of the item.
  • Water damage: please see our 'What to do if I have a leak' FAQ.
  • Underground services: turn your stopcock off and get details of your water board and the boundaries of your home.
  • Weather: please see our 'Claiming for damage caused by weather' FAQ.
  • Theft/malicious damage: inform the police and get a crime reference number.
