Why might my credit limit be reduced?

As a responsible lender, we regularly review your account to make sure your credit limit is suitable for you.

When we offer a new credit card account, we look at your financial situation to help set your credit limit. And we continue to check the latest information on your circumstances – so your credit limit always stays up to date.

From time to time, we may decide to lower your credit limit if we see something’s changed. Some of the things we look at might include:

  • Your balance and payments (including late or missed payments)
  • How you use your card
  • If you go over your credit limit
  • Information we receive from the credit reference agencies

If we lower your credit limit, we'll let you know as soon as possible. You can always see your current credit limit in our Mobile App or Online Banking.
