    Yes you have to put money on it, and you can do this via bank transfer.

    If you do it via a credit card (not sure you can anyway)...

    It's per transaction, so if you spent on loads of things under £8 you'd get nothing.

    Better off with a cashback credit card that uses running total (and you get better deals than 0.125%)
