    Hi

I have sent a private message with some more information.

I am a little concerned as I recently opened a Tesco savings account and shortly after received a phishing email. I have forwarded it to the phishing email address but it seems too much of a coincidence to receive one straight after opening an account. I receive loads of these and know that fraudsters send emails randomly hoping to find someone with that named account who might respond but it is a bit spooky for me to receive a Tesco phishing email straight after opening the account. I have never had one from "Tesco" before and it seems too much of a coincidence! Has this happened to anyone else as I am a bit concerned about Tesco's security systems.

    Hi

First of all, thank you for forwarding the email to us, that will help us investigate these emails further. Secondly, please be assured that our security systems are up to date and there are no issues here. These types of emails are generally sent out in waves, we've had non-customers also receive the same email so it is very likely to be a coincidence that you have received one within such a short time of opening your account. As you said, fraudsters are always on the lookout for your information and details and send these emails to try to obtain this.

In future, if you are ever unsure about an email claiming to be from Tesco Bank, you can always get in touch with us first.
