when making an online transaction, it requires me to authorise the payment via TescoBank App. In case I don't have App at hand, how can I switch the option to authorise payment by passcode on mobile phone?

Hi @k2020, if you have the Mobile App downloaded on your device then the authorisation will automatically be sent there.

I'm afraid this wouldn't be possible, you'd always be asked to authorise within the mobile app @k2020

Is this answer correct? On the page https://www.tescobank.com/security/3d-secure/
It answers the question "What if you do not have our app?" with "If you don’t use our Mobile App, to improve the security of your purchases we’ll send you a one-time passcode..."
How do I get this passcode?, as like the original poster do not want to use the App -
Hi @RA1, if you've never downloaded and accessed the mobile app then the authorisation would be sent to you by SMS. However, if you've logged into the mobile app then the push notification would automatically be sent there.

@KellyT Thanks for your reply but I'm afraid this did not work for me as despite trying several times no SMS was sent
The only way I could complete a recent purchase was to download the app.
I have now uninstalled the app again so it will be interesting to see what happens next time I need a transaction authorised -
Afraid that won't work as you will still have an online account. If you give us a call on 0345 300 3511, you can request that your online account is deactivated. It will revert back to Text Messages once that is completed.

The answer that it is automatically sent to the App is what I expected. That is fine as long as it works.
the last two times I was trying to authorise an online transaction via the app it hung and failed. Lucky I have other credit cards!
Are Tesco considering allowing authorisation by text message as they will be losing business.
One more failure and I will not try to use my Tesco credit card for online transactions any more!
