2016 letters: it appears we don't have a correct email address for you Acccording to Tesco Bank call centre, this is a known problem for people with a BT email address e.g. [email protected] (during 2016 for some months now). Solution: Ignore the letters after you have checked your email address for each of your Tesco Bank products when the first letter arrives.
This problem is stillongoing. I recommend (for people who went paperless to save forests) that you switch off Email Alerts until Tesco & BT resolve this situation
Update 18th Nov 2017. Tesco Bank hae written to me about this problem. BT have refused to discuss the problem with Tesco, each time they raise the matter. BT say they will only deal with the BT customer, and have provided Tesco Bank with the complaints address: BT Correspondence CentreProvidence RowDurham**postcode removed**-----------------------------------------------------------Personally, I am going to try via email to BT first. this has been going on, or intermittently re-occurring, for a while now in 2016 - so Tesco Bank ought to think about adding a paragraph about this in i) the online welcome page ii) a paragraph in the letter! Not a 1st class IT team at Tesco (but I may be biased as I was in IT and would not have allowed this to drag on this long with customers in the dark! Now you know why it takes so long to speak to someone in the call centre)

The reason we wouldn't add a paragraph to the letters or the website is because, as you say, the issue isn't consistent and doesn't affect all customers. The letters are generated and sent out automatically when we get a returned notification from the email provider, and can often be due to server issues.
You're completely right about checking the email address and if it's correct then disregarding the letters, thanks for mentioning that :-) Also, please make sure to provide more feedback on services and products, as the more we have the more we can look to change in the future.

Registration

You agree that your registration and access to Your Community may be immediately suspended or terminated without explanation or prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, the following may, at our sole discretion, lead to a termination of a user's registration and access to Tesco Bank Community:
breach of these Terms of Service, the House Rules or other related agreements or guidelines;
request by law enforcement or other government agencies;
a request by you;
unexpected technical issue or problem; and
extended periods of inactivity.
Termination of your registration includes removal of access to all offerings within Your Community and may also prevent you from engaging in further use of Your Community. Furthermore, you agree that neither us nor the moderators shall be liable to you or any third-party for any termination of your registration or access to Your Community.
Rights to content
When you upload or submit content (such as text, data, images or names, when permitted) to Your Community, you grant us a right to use, copy, modify, publish or otherwise distribute that content, including any personal information that may be included in the content, for any purpose, including, without limiting the foregoing, the administration and management of Your Community, marketing including in social media, analytical purposes, and new product or service development. Indemnification
