I got this notification from my bank:

We are writing to notify you of the above Direct Debit payment request which was attempted today on your xxx account, however we have not been able to honour this payment as the Direct Debit is not set up on this account. If you wish for this Direct Debit to be honoured in future, please contact the originator noted above to discuss this matter further.
