Hi, I opened a Fixed Rate Saver account yesterday. Today I have transferred some money into it from my normal bank (First Direct), despite warnings about the destination not being verifiable, I went ahead with the transfer, triple checking the account number and sort codes.
I expected the money to appear in the new account fairly quickly, it disappeared from my current account straight away.

Does this process normally take a while? Several hours on now I'm a little nervous!

Any advice/experience appreciated.

I am watching this as I opened a fixed rate account today, but I am reluctant now to send the money as Natwest flagged up warnings that the name of the account didn't match. I am wondering if it takes a few days for the account to be recognised by other banks after being set up. Perhaps someone from Tesco Bank could reply and answer our questions?

Karen, I since spoke to my bank...who confirmed they were sitting on the transfer till they had spoken to me. They released things...and said check tomorrow. In my case it would appear Tesco Bank are not the cause of the issue.
