Tesco credit card clubcard didn't work at checkout

    I did a decent shop yesterday and picked up a few club card offers that would have saved me £15.00 on a £130 plus shop. But at the checkout the card would not scan and the cashier told me that my card was no good and I need to get a new one. The card works fine. So I paid full price for my shop and was unhappy as I bought items that I would not have paid the full price for! I retained the receipt and just want to know if there is anything I can do about being reimbursed? I didn't pay using my Tesco credit card (used my debit card). It was just a bit embarrassing as there was a queue behind us, the checkout guy was loud and annoying and if my wife hadn't have been there I would have just walked out. Why does the Tesco credit card Clubcard only work at self service checkouts? Any help appreciated.
