Is the online site secure?

    Hi all, I've just opened a 1 year fixed rate account and would like to transfer money in but when I type in Tesco bank sort code & account number my bank says that this account cannot be checked & advises cancelling transaction. Also in the search bar in google when you go into Tesco bank there is an exclamation mark before the name. I googled this & it said the site is not secure & is using http & not https. So not sure what to do?? Thanks.

    Where are you accessing the Tesco Bank website from? The safest way to do this is to enter www.Tescobank.com and not via search engines.

    Your bank will not be able to verify your Tesco Bank sort code and account number because we are not yet part of the Confirmation of Payee scheme, we have work ongoing for this and will likely be the end of the year before we are able to take part in that service. If you log in to either online banking or the Tesco Bank mobile app, your sort code and account number will be visible on there for you to double check against what you're entering with your own bank 😊
