unable to login into Clubcard Pay+ account using the Tesco banking android app and getting this message (image attached) -

"Sorry

We were unable to complete your request.

Please try again later."


then tried uninstalling & reinstalling the app and after entering username, then the requested 2 digits of security code, then entering code sent to phone number, it then fails at the next stage every time i.e. after entering the password.

Note that i can successful log into the same account via the website and see all transactions etc - it's just doesn't work with the android app.

Also on another different account on another exact same phone everything works fine i.e. i can log in fine with the android app.

I've tried using v4.21.0, v4.22.0, v4.23.0 versions of the app and the same problem.

Is anyone having this?

I have the same. It used to work in the past. And this error shows upon correct password entry: if you type in a wrong password it gives you a different error.

thanks for responding.

the strange thing is - it worked on another account on exact same phone brand and make - so its seems account specific.

now i'm hesitant to add/upload money to the acc - just in case the money gets stuck there and/or the prepaid card may not work at the atm etc!😒

OK, reinstalling the app (so that launching the app shows the "Let's get started" screen and Tesco text messages you that they've detected a login from a new device) allows me to login. But every subsequent launch of the app results in the same login error page as before.

Using wifi or mobile data makes no difference. Using the fingerprint or password to login makes no difference.

My phone is Samsung S10e , Android version 10.

I've called them and reported the problem to the IT team to investigate. They said in a few days they'll call me to fix the issue. If anything comes out of it, I'll post here.

the phone in question is a

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G

however as already mentioned - the same Tescobank app and app version is installed on another exact same phone and the app is working on that phone and the only difference is - the account on that phone is a different Tesco Clubcard Pay+ account, so I believe the problem must be account specific.

I have exactly the same issue on a Google pixel 6a

I always use my fingerprint to log into the tesco bank app. Recently every couple of weeks, when I try and login, the app asks for 2 digits of my 6 digit pin and then when I enter my correctpassword I get "something's gone wrong" I have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Is this a known fault as there are loads of comments on the Google play store from people who are having the same issue. Thank you.
