Interest payment on closed / zero balance accounts

I am consolidating my Tesco accounts to one higher interest saving account. I have not closed any of the accounts yet but some have zero balance.

As interest is paid annually, what will happen to the interest that has accrued on the accounts I am not using?

Do I need to leave them open to receive the interest?

The closure process seems clunky - but if I do close them, what happens to the interest owed?

Hey @Cazzaev thanks for getting in touch 🙂 Apologies for the delay. The interest will stay in the account until the date of maturity. The interest will paid into your nominated account. The quickest way to get the account closed is to give us a call on 0345 678 5678 (Mon - Fri: 8am - 6pm, Sat - Sun: 9am - 2pm) and our team can close it for you straight away. I hope this helps.
