I'd like to add Home Emergency cover to my home insurance policy, which renewed today.

The Tesco website says -

Can I add an optional extra to my policy via Your Insurance Account?

And goes on -

You can add an optional extra to either your car or home insurance policy at any time via Your Insurance Account but you can only do this when making another change to the policy.

Which seems a bit unreasonable as many people will only want to make one change to their policy. Fortunately there is another change I would like to make, namely adding my wife as a joint policyholder.

However, although the help page says I just need to log into my account then view policy then select "make change" from the menu, I can not see any option to MAKE CHANGE!!!!

Are Tesco trying to make things as difficult as possible for us?

@londonaye Hey there, thanks for getting in touch.

The 'make changes' option is not available during the renewal cycle as any changes at that stage need to be made over the phone.

Once the option is available on the account, follow the instructions outlined here to make the change and add Home Emergency to the policy.

@AmyMv Hi Amy. While I can now log in to make some changes, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an option to add home emergency cover.
