"Invalid debit card" when trying to make payment

    Hi all

    I have a Direct Debit set up for my Tesco credit card but I also make extra payments from time to time with a debit card online.

    I have a new card issued recently by my bank as they have switched from Mastercard to Visa. When I correctly enter the 16-digit number, I get an error message "invalid debit card". Happened yesterday and is still happening today.

    Trying to do it through the app also gives me the same error message. I know I can do it by bank transfer but I don't want to, I want to use my debit card as I usually do.

    Any ideas?

    Replying to my own thread...

    I spoke to my bank about it and they said it was because Tesco hadn't updated their database recently with new Visa card numbers. They have asked Tesco to do so.

    So just updating here in case anyone has the same problem - try telling your own bank and they will probably sort it!
