    I need to change the policy holder details on my car insurance. This is due to the NCB being in my spouses name and not mine and unfortunately because I put the policy in my name you will not accept the NCB.

    We're not able to change the policyholder, I'm afraid.

    Your options at this stage, with the policy in your name, is to either remove the bonus (and invariably increase the premium), or your spouse can transfer their NCD bonus to you. If they're happy to do so, they wouldn't be able to transfer it back to themselves at a later date - so they would essentially have to start their NCD from zero again if they took out their own policy again in future.

    Your other option is to cancel the policy and your spouse to set up a new one. You will need to call us to arrange either of these. You can reach the Car Insurance team on
