Hi, I set up a Tesco ISA account yesterday and wanted to transfer money from my other bank account with Santander into the new Tesco ISA account.
I went to set up the transfer and Santander doesn't recognize the account number and therefore I wasn't allowed to go ahead with the transfer. I ring up Tesco customer services and they just said it was a problem with Santander and I should contact them.
However we also tried to set up payment from a Nationwide account and also Monza. They also didn't recognize the Tesco ISA account as being a valid account number.
At this rate we are thinking it would be easier just to cancel this Tesco ISA and go with someone else!
Any thoughts as to what's going on here? Is it anything to do with the transfer to Barclays that's coming up on the 1st November? If so should we wait until that's all done and see if the account number is recognized then? And the account number is definitely the right account number, we've checked so many times and the Tesco customer services team said that was the account number
