I've been using the app for a year. Recently I got a new handset, installed the app and started registering on it. I got as far as the other but the app says the phone number is wrong try again, in fact it gets stuck in that loop. The phone number is correct. I've reinstalled the app but to no avail it still gets stuck

Hey @Losmith, thanks for getting in touch 🙂

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty logging into the Mobile App.

Are you able to try logging in via 'I've forgotten username'?

Let me know if you still need further assistance 🙂

I've tried that. I still hit the otp error it gives the code egn-01. From that screen whichever way you go you are in a loop.

Hey @Losmith, thanks for getting back in touch😀.

I'm sorry you are having an issue logging into the Mobile App.

Usually if the mobile number is showing incorrect it suggests it's either the wrong username for your account or you may have a second account with us and the mobile number has not been changed.

To check you are using the correct username can you please try visit our website www.tescobank.com >> log in >> then click I've forgotten my username >> enter your personal details and product information. This should confirm your username for your account. Can you check if this is the username you are using when trying to log into the Mobile App.

If you are still encountering a problem can you please advise what type of banking product you are trying to view on the mobile app?

    I hope this helps.

I've done all that for Caroline. I was trying to authorise an online payment. I started setting up the app using the credentials I've had for about 20 years like my username. I reached the point where it wanted to validate the new device by sending an otp to the known phone number. At that point it hit an error. Since the phone number hasn't changed it is merely in a newer handset I cannot see what else I can do. Do you know what error EGN-01 is or is it one of those catchall numbers that developers use because they think their code is foolproof ?
