I have set up a direct debit to my Tesco credit card to come out of my bank account on or around 12th of the month.
This did not happen and I have been charged £12 for a missed payment.
I have made the payment.
Why did the direct debit not work as the details are correct and it was done when I set up my card?

This may depend on when the direct debit was set up. The direct debit needs to be set up before your statement is generated for it to collect that month, if it's set up after this date it collects the following month. A manual payment would be required if not set up on time.
