Why can't I Tesco Credit Card Abroad?

I am on holiday in Nigeria and trying to pay a hospital bill but the card is being declined. From reading the Tesco Credit Card notes it says you don’t need to tell Tesco your using your card aboard….

Any advice on what to do next?

I'm sorry to hear about this. If you send a private message, we'll check to see if there is anything preventing you from using the card.

If there are no blocks or restrictions, it could be a problem with 3D secure which is the system used to verify the card for online purchases. If this is the case, or if the card is indeed blocked, you'll need to call us to resolve this.

@ChristopherP - after further digging I had to upgrade my o2 mobile phone package (so I can receive any authentication request) to include Nigeria. Not had to use my Tesco CC so can’t be 100% sure the issue is fixed.

Have attempted to use Tesco credit card from Nigeria again but it’s not working. My mobile is now setup with a overseas roaming package so i can send and receive phone/texts to/from Nigeria. When I tried to use my CC I didn’t receive any authentication texts or any challenge on the Tesco app…
