I don't have banking app. for authorisation

    Hi,

    I have raised this matter before and I still keep getting 'Open app' messages to authorise payments. It worked ok for a while now it has reverted to using the app. Today, all I wanted to do on a retail website (Tesco Groceries) was to update my credit card as my old one has expired and again I'm told to use the app. Extremely frustrating.
    The OS on my Android smartphone isn't up to date enough to run the latest Tesco banking app.
    Is there no other way to change this other than spend ages on the telephone.?

    Hey @cabinscooter, thanks for getting in touch😀.

    If you log into the Tesco mobile app, each time you need to authorise your payment/update your card details you will be asked to do this on our app for security reasons.

    If you would like to revert to text message authorisation and are not planning on using our Mobile app going forward, please call our Credit Card team on 0345 300 4278 (Mon-Fri: 8am-9pm) (Sat-Sun: 8am-4pm) and they can help you with this. If you decide not to use the banking app you can still log into online banking through the Tesco Bank website to manage your account.
