I have just opened a online saver account and it said i would be able to deposit money into the account straight away but my bank doesnt recognize the account number yet. How long will it take for the account to become active?

It should be active as soon as the account has been opened. Have you been able to deposit since?

My bank is saying the tesco bank account does not exist.

Just had same issue.
Clearly said I could deposit money immediately but told “account doesn’t exist “ when I tried.
Called Tesco who said you have to wait 48 hrs.
Contradictory information from Tesco.
Never had this issue when opening numerous similar accounts previously.
Possibly due to new rules after Barclays takeover but they haven’t updated the info on web?
