Can you advise if there is a maximum amount that can be paid into your account at one time and if there is a maximum amount that you can have in your account?

There is no limit to the amount you can hold in your account, but there are limits to how much you can receive in deposits and transactions. You can read about these on pages 4 & 5 here.
