Applying for a credit card- predicted income?

    Hi,
I want to apply for a credit card. I'm currently a student and only employed on a zero hour contract where I don't really work many shifts at all so it's not much of an income. I have accepted a job offer to start next month, and on the offer letter it states what my salary will be.

Am I allowed to apply for a credit card and input my salary as the salary on my offer letter, despite not having officially started working yet? Or do I have to input my current income ie the total of my student loan income for the year and the few hundred from employment? I did a preliminary check with the latter information and I wouldn't be accepted but with the former, I would be.

Main reason I ask is because I'd like the 0% interest rate for the first 14 months that comes with some of the credit cards, in order to buy my first car. I kind of need a car to work, so therein lies my predicament- need car for job, need credit card for car.

@Csanders Hey there, thanks for getting in touch!

I appreciate the predicament you're in with this. However, when you make the application, you'd need to enter your current salary at that time. This is because it would need to align for the credit check, and we also may ask for payslips in support of the application.

I hope this clarifies things for you.
