I'm stuck trying to check out of Tesco.com

    I updated my grocery basket but now can't check out my grocery order online on the website or on the app. All is well until the final "Confirm Order" button. I get a red banner message on the website saying "Something is wrong, we've probably already fixed it, please try again" but I simply get caught in a loop repeating the same message.

    Similar happens on the app with a similar message. There's nothing on either telling me my Tesco Credit Card can't be authorised (all is well with my Credit Card). When I click the link on the website to "change payment card" I can't even do that. This has been going on since Friday night. I spoke to Tesco C/S yesterday morning and the issue was being referred to their IT department but I haven't heard anything since. I'm stuck trying to confirm this week's order.

    Has anyone experienced the same and can give me some help please?

    @ChristopherP Sadly not! Thanks for asking. I contacted Tesco Groceries C/S by WhatsApp and they came back to me after 24 hours (and a reminder I was still waiting). After several phone calls, a referral to their IT department (whose lead-time is SEVEN days - not much good when you're trying to check out a grocery order) and some time with one helpful person trying to talk me through various steps to try and sort the issue it was identified that the problem was being caused by the fact that I'd got a 7 pack of Penguin biscuits in my basket which, apparently, had been "urgently withdrawn". Instead of simply putting a "this product is unavailable and will be removed from your basket on check-out" message on my order, it was causing the check out to fail. After removing the 7 pack of Penguins from two of my orders, I was finally able to check out. Pity they didn't address this sooner and send emails to their customers. I had spent a lot of time (and some worry that my card had been compromised) before it was all sorted.

    It turns out there was nothing wrong with my Tesco Credit Card but it would have been nice to have had a response all the same.
