Refund given on old credit card so hasn't come to me

    Hi,

    I paid for two luggage fees with an airline, one in December 2024 and one in February 2025. They were paid with my Tesco Credit Card (via paypal).

    There were problems with the flights and we complained in Feb 2025. The luggage fees were refunded in April 2025 and the only notification we got was a refund notification.

    Unfortunately this was done AFTER my card was phished in March 2025 and replaced in the same month, and so no refund has come through to me. The airline's transaction details show it being attempted to be paid to my old card. We've had no further message from the airline to say that refund didn't go through.

    I just want to know if I should contact Tesco about this, if the money is in limbo with Tesco somehow, or if I need to contact the Airline.

    Thanks for providing so much detail. In this case, you should call the Credit Card team, and provided it was sent to us, they'll trace the payment and transfer it across for you.

    You can reach them on 0345 300 4278 (Mon - Fri: 8am to 9pm, Sat - Sun: 8am - 6pm) and they'll be happy to help.

    To speak to one of my colleagues, please choose option 2 and enter your security details, then press 0. If you don't have any details to hand, just press 0 and you will then be passed through.

    I hope you get it all sorted.
