Double login for internet banking - virus?

I used to log in using my username and password. Now I have to input my username and password to access another page, where I have to input exactly the same information to get into my accounts. Is this a virus, secretly collecting my login details? I don't have the same problem using the phone app, just the laptop browser, which has been scanned with two virus scanners.

@DnM Hey there, thanks for getting in touch!

Sorry to hear about this. It sounds like it may just be a bug. To be on the safe side, log out, clear cache/cookies and when logged back in, change your password.

You can find out how to change it here - How do I change my password online?

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks. I clear my cache every time I close my browser, so that I can't be tracked by all and sundry. That's unlikely to be the solution. FYI, I also tried the Tesco Bank helpline, where the agent told me that my browser, Firefox, did not work with the internet bank (Safari is also unusable, I was told, which is probably news to all Apple account holders). This is clearly not true, as I have been using Firefox to access my accounts ever since I opened my Tesco accounts, years ago. However, I tried the helpline recommendation to use MS Edge instead, and I only had to log in once instead of twice. There was presumably some upgrade at the bank recently that disagrees with Firefox.

Need some help?
