Is this a genuine Tesco Bank text?

    I received this text from Tesco Bank. Is it real? If so, what is the problem?

    We're protecting your Tesco Bank Credit Card from potential fraud by sending you a new card. Your new card will arrive within 10 days. You can continue to use your existing card, and manage your account online, however please be aware that you will not be able to manage your account using mobile banking over the next 36 hours. If something on your account doesn't look right please get in touch.

    @Platts Hey there, thanks for getting in touch!

    It sounds like we've sent a new card as a security measure. This generally happens after a third-party merchant notifies us that they've had a security breach.

    If you call the Credit Card team, they'll check this for you. You can reach them on 0345 300 4278 (Mon - Fri: 8am to 9pm, Sat - Sun: 8am - 6pm) and they'll be happy to help.

    To speak to one of my colleagues, please choose option 2 and enter your security details, then press 0. If you don't have any details to hand, just press 0 and you will then be passed through.
