Hotels.com is showing as taking the payment 3 times and I didn’t give authority for this through PayPal. PayPal is showing one. Will this be a problem as it is making my balance seem astronomical

Sorry to hear about that. If the payments are still in pending, the duplicates should drop off within 7 days.
If the payments are taken and charged to your account, please contact the merchant directly in the first instance and they will be able to process a refund for you.
If they aren't able to do this, then please get back in touch with us and we'll help you raise a claim.
