How do I send a private message?

This is all extremely complicated and long-winded. I am going backwards while trying to get a simple bit of informatiion from tescobank.

At the top of this thread is the message: -
"For details like your DOB and postcode we ask for you to format it with additional spaces, i.e. A B 1 2 C D and 2 4 1 0 2 0 1 6, otherwise the information is removed by the system. "

It seems contradictory that the message at the top of this thread asks us to "format with additional spaces", but the i.e does not include any spaces. Should that be **postcode removed** and **sensitive info removed** ?

or should it read "without any spaces" ?

And whose daft idea was it to use pale blue on white for the text of our messages. Some of us don't have good eyesight, so black on white would be better. - part of "helping the disabled."

I changed my computer, and could not get past the "Login" button on my new computer. I always got returned to the login page, with no explanation as to why. I am using Mozilla Firefox on Windows 10, and have disabled "Accept cookies" in "Open menu" (Top right-hand corner)/Options/Privacy. It dawned on me after about an hour that I needed to add some Tesco website URLs to my "Exceptions" list. I then spent another half hour sorting out which tesco urls I needed to add.

It would be nice if the tesco login button defaulted to a page explaining the absence of a cookie, instead of simply defaulting back to the login page. An explanation of the need to set an Exception, together with a list of the tesco urls needed, or else to allow cookies in general, would help too.

This information could be in a "Sticky" at the top of this thread too, as clearly many people have difficulty logging in to the tesco website.

I am sorry you've had trouble online, @kent. Were you receiving an error messag when clicking the 'Log In' button or was the page not moving at all? Normally, in this instance we would advise clearing the cache on your web browser.

Our website does require a Cookie to be stored within your web browser to recognise that you've previously logged in with that device. You do not need to store this Cookie if you don't want to, as we provide an extra layer of security when logging in on a new browser or browser which does not store Cookies. We explain to customers that when logging in on an unrecognised device we will need to verify them by sending a One Time Access Code to their mobile or landline before completing their log in. I am sorry for any confusion and inconvenience the log in page has caused you! Please do get back in touch should you continue to have trouble with this.

With regards to the design of the website, we've used a contrast of colours in the hope that the page is clear for our users. I am sorry if this doesn't work well for you, it may be worthwhile looking into the different Firefox accessibility themes; they may help.
