Can I change my Direct Debit?

Hello I have two Tesco current accounts.I have a direct debit taken from one of my Tesco current accounts which is paid into my Tesco internet saver account. I would like to switch this DD from the Tesco account it is now in to my other Tesco current account. My options when logged in to my account seem to be only "Cancel" the DD. I am happy to do this but then i would like to set it up in my my other account. There seem to be no online line options nor email request options and my only method of contact seems to be this option or Twitter or Facebook (neither which i do or want to do) or a long wait on the end of the phone. ( Why no email option?) If it requires an old fashion paper mandate, can someone send a copy to me please.Regards

I am sorry you've had trouble with this, @Dustbinlady. I'm afraid we cannot service a customer's account via email as we have no way of verifying customers this way, it is also not a secure method of contact for such queries. We'll need to have a chat on the phone to make this type of change for you, get in touch when you get a moment.

Thanks for that. I might do that when i get or chance. Seems strange though that i can log into my account, cancel this DD, Transfer between accounts or withdraw thousands of pounds but i cannot move my existing DD from one of my current accounts to the other current account in my name, both of which i can see and have full access to along with my internet saver on my PC. It is not as if i want to set up a new DD to pay a third party but one just to pay from my current account into my internet saver, which i am currently doing but from the wrong tesco account..It occurs to me that it might just be easier to cancel the DD and set up a standing order which i know i can do online. I would prefer the DD but a standing order would pretty much do the same job
