Funds are not available.

    I paid a chq in yesterday and it shows in my account but the funds are not available.
    The problems is having read this thread I have no idea when I will have access to the funds?
    2 days from now? 4 days from now? 6 days from when it arrives at the processing centre which could be anything?

    Q. How long do chqs take to get to the process centre.
    Q. Is there a list of which stores use chq imagining.
    Q. What is the difference between the funds being available and being fully cleared

    Hey Jim, as a former Tesco Bank staff member its meant to be available to spend after 4 working days however there is no set time scale as to how long it should be sent from the Cash office in store to the processing centre. It's only once its received at the processing centre that the 4 working days starts. There are a list of store of you go into the current account page but same rules apply to all stores. I've just point blank refused to use this service with Tesco as I handed a cheque in on 2nd December in store to be told. It was received on the 9th at processing centre and would be cleared in the 17th to spend. Funds available shows the funds have been accepted and once cleared they will be released to acbe ally spend. Hope this helps. Santander takes days so I use this account then transfer to my daily current account
