Missing Transfer

    HiI recently opened a savings account with another bank , my Tesco current Acc is the linked account for paying in.One of my transfers has gone missing (3 days and not showing). I spoke to the other bank who asked me to phone Tesco and get a payment reference so they could track it down.I spoke to Tesco customer service and although they, eventually ,verbally confirmed the payment had gone to the correct Account/ sort code they couldn't give me a payment reference , apparently he needs to email payments for the number and it could take 'a few days' to get me the payment reference.I can't understand how this can be surely it's there on the computer screen next to the transfer??Meanwhile my (quite sizable) transfer is lost somewhere between the two banks.I'm not happy, if anyone knows a quicker way to get the payment reference or to track down the transfer I'd be grateful for the information.

    Hi Kevio, I'm very sorry to hear this. Usually if you make a payment it arrives in the destination account within 24 hours if made by faster payment. Unfortunately we would need to speak to our Payments Team in order to get this reference number and it's not something that is provided to my colleagues over the phone. I can certainly understand how frustrating this can be, especially with a large amount.

    It is very frustrating. Not sure where I go from here I suppose I'll have to ring back in the "couple of days" that the customer service guy said it would take to get a reply from payments.I can't say I'm that confident the payment references will be there waiting for me.

    Well wasn't wrong to be sceptical, rang Tesco yesterday morning no payment codes ,wait another couple of days for replies from the clearing bank, meanwhile my £10000 faster payment transfer is still missing after 9 days. Not happy with the service.
