I opened a fixed rate savings account but didn't realise I had to make a single payment of £2000 + to open the account. I transferred money from my Halifax account and the money was sent via FPA and left my account immediately. I called Tesco to ask for assistance and was advised that as the payment was less than £2000 it would be rejected and paid back into my Halifax account. How long does this take to happen? Meanwhile I note that the new savings account I opened has been closed. When will I get my money back?

Hi , I'm really sorry about this. If a payment has been rejected we will send the funds back straight away although it can take 24 hours to arrive. Have you contacted Halifax to trace the payment?

How can I find out if the payment has actually been rejected and sent back?Tesco have now closed that account I tried to open.
