Security number always rejected when I sign in

    My first post so this question may have already been answered. When I try to sign in to online banking my first digit required to enter of my security number is always initially rejected and the message ' Please enter only numbers' appears. If I delete the number I have entered it then allows me to enter the number again and moves onto the next 'box' for the second digit without any problem. I have been experiencing this for several months. No problem but annoying but why does this happen every time? This also happens when my wife signs into her account so not just me.
