Change Approved Loan Type

    Hello,

    I have an existing Tescobank loan and applied to increase my borrowing. I thought I had completed an application but just after the credit check, my internet glitched.

    Today I phoned Customer Services and spoke to a lovely lady who found my application, but advised that I had applied for an 2nd loan and not a Top Up.

    The loan had been approved but its not the product I want.

    I now have to decline the offered loan and reapply for the correct product. This will involve a 2nd hard search on my credit score and then the application will more than likely go to the underwriters for to approved/declined.

    Is this the only option to change my application.

    I'm sorry to hear about this situation you're in. You can't change the Loan type at this stage, I'm afraid. This means you'd need to make a new application for a Top Up Loan, and this would involve a fresh credit check.
