Cheque clearing time into internet saver account

    So HMRC sent a payable order (cheque) to Tesco which arrived Tuesday 21st March 2017, the funds started showing on the balance on Wednesday 22nd March 2017, now a full week on and STILL not available. Spoke to 2 people and had 2 different stories. First told me 6 working days (maximum) - funds would be available today Wednesday 29th March 2017 (they're not) - second person told me 7-10 working days! I hope that's a joke, to withhold funds for 10 working days is beyond diabolical and will be swiftly followed by the closing of all tesco products I hold should it be the case. I was even told it takes so long as HMRC cheque may 'bounce'.... Really? A government cheque? Ridiculous.

    Hi , it takes up to 6 working days for a cheque to fully clear. I think the second person you spoke to may have picked this up wrong as 7-10 working days is the timescale for us sending a cheque, not for it to credit your account.
    Have the funds reached your account since messaging us? If they still haven’t please give us a call on 0345 678 5678, available Mon – Fri 8am – 10pm and weekends 9am – 5pm so this can be investigated further - Nick
