Bacs credit

    Hi everyone, long time no speak!
    I received a letter from my insurance company, Direct Line, stating that they owe me £50. When I called them, they asked for my bank details. I'm with Barclays, but by mistake, I provided the account and sort code for my Tesco Clubcard account, not realizing it's not meant to be a full account.
    Will the BACS payment still go through? The insurance company checked the details and mentioned Tesco/Barclays, since Barclays has taken over Tesco banking. Just wondering if the payment will reach my account despite the mistake, or if I need to provide my main Barclays account details instead.

    Hopefully this won't cause too many problems, as long as the details you provided Direct Line were correct then we should be able to receive the refund/payment from them no problem. You can keep an eye on your account online to make sure the payment comes in properly.

    Hi thanks for your reply I just spoke to the bank and she said it would be rejected and no BACs are allowed this is what I thought in the first place as the BAcs would of gone in b now so spoke to the insurance and they are going to send myself a cheque that I can pay in by photo on my Barclays app
    So it's fine but definitely no BACs allowed

    @ITUnurse Hey, sorry for the confusion! That is correct, Clubcard Pay+ accounts can't accept BACS payments, but I'm glad to hear you received a cheque from them. Clubcard Pay+ doesn't accept cheques either, but it sounds like you've got another account you can process it through, so that's great.
