I have made some payments during the month when I normally pay by direct debit. The statement balance has not been reduced by these payments, so I am concerned the full statement balance will still be taken by direct debit at the end of the month. Are payments made during the month allocated to the previous statement balance before the direct debit is taken?

Hey @readnh, thanks for getting in touch😀.

As long as the payment was made after your statement printed and made 3 working days before the direct debit collection date, the payment will go towards the previous months bill. This will either reduce the amount we collect by direct debit or if the full amount has been paid then no direct debit will collect.

Your statement balance on the app/online banking under "make a payment" will not update until your next statement has printed. However, your overall balance will update once your payments have cleared into your account.
