How do I cancel direct debit being taken from my American Express card? They gave me a phone number to call but it was recorded message

No. American Express are paying Tesco

What is the payment for?

It is to Tesco being a monthly payment to qualify for discount on shopping. I rang Amex who said I would need to contact the payee
